The Beauty of Antarctica
Thursday, 25 September 2014
The Last Desert Race in Antarctica is now only 37 days away. My preparations – training, equipment, running gear, etc. – are on track and I’m looking forward to this once in a lifetime experience.
My aim is to enjoy the overall experience as much as possible, although the race will be challenging and the conditions very foreign compared to the various sand desert races which I have done in the past.
One thing is very certain – the unique beauty of Antarctica will most probably be the lasting memory of the overall experience.
The following few images provide a brief glimpse of what we will see and experience in Antarctica:
Besides running and trying to complete the race, capturing images of this unique landscape will be an important activity while in Antarctica.
There will definitely be no shortage of material to share on my return to South Africa!

I’m excited about the race in Antarctica and the challenge of raising R250 000 for a Greenpeace Africa solar energy project, and encourage you to support my efforts and the work of Greenpeace Africa!
Please make a donation and encourage others to do the same.
