Partnering with GNC
Friday, 26 September 2014
Aside from training, nutrition is probably the most important influence on sports performance, especially endurance sport.
I am therefore very grateful that GNC, one of the global leaders in nutritional supplements, agreed to sponsor my nutritional requirements for the Last Desert Race in Antarctica.
GNC is the largest global specialty retailer of nutritional products, including vitamin, mineral, herbal and other specialty supplements and sports nutrition, diet and energy products. Its products are available in more than 8 600 locations in more than 50 countries.
GNC’s motto is “living well”. It is committed to providing quality sports nutrition products that are free of banned substances and that adhere to the strict guidelines of World Anti-Doping Agency.
GNC products are available in South Africa through Clicks stores since early 2014, and GNC concept stores in Johannesburg (Cresta Shopping Centre), Cape Town (V&A Waterfront) and Somerset West (Somerset Mall).
The GNC products which I’m testing for the Last Desert Race include:
# Protein / Recovery
Whey Protein Complex
Protein Advance XR
Hybrid Carb Complex
# Hydration / Endurance Sports Drink
Amplified Endurance Booster
# Vitamins
Mega Men® Joint
Mega Men® Sport
# Other
Glutamine 2500 Power Chew
QuestBar
I am very happy with the results so far, and I look forward to using these products in Antarctica.
