Counting Down – 18 Days to the Start of the Last Desert Race in Antarctica

R250 x 1000 donations

Tuesday, 14 October 2014

Raising R250 000 for a solar energy project in Diepsloot was always going to be a challenging and ambitious objective to achieve. But if we break it down, it requires only a 1000 people to each donate R250 and we achieve our objective.

I visited the project site this morning and there is no doubt in my mind that the impact of solar lighting in an area of Diepsloot where there is no electricity or street lights, will make a significant contribution to community safety and the local community’s quality of life.

So, I appeal to all friends, colleagues and people interested in making a concrete difference in the lives of the people in Diepsloot to support my fundraising campaign in conjunction with Greenpeace Africa.
